Fleetwood High School student Dustin J. Carbaugh, 17, from Shoemakersville, completed his Eagle Service Project in Maidencreek Park June 28 and 29.
A Scout in Blandon Boy Scout Troop 183, his project consisted of refurbishing and rebuilding the wooden, soccer “kick-back” wall. The wood on the old one was chipped, rotting and in a state of disrepair. Refurbish existing Soccer Kick Wall. He orchestrated and prepared entire project, including tear off, rebuild and painting two murals.
The purpose of the project was to earn and achieve Highest Rank within Boy Scouting “Eagle” prior to age 18. The project must be a Scout / Boy - lead Leadership project allowing for community service for fellow Scouts. Project must teach the other and younger scouts new skills and must help others with rank advancement.
Carbaugh has been in Scouts since first grade from “Tiger Cub”.
