Peach desserts will once again be on the agenda for the annual Oley Fire Company Peach & Ice Cream Festival which is being held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Oley Fire Company fairgrounds.
Contestants are being asked to submit their favorite peach dessert for a chance to win some cash prizes, including a $150.00 First place award.
The contest will feature an adult division for those 19 years of age and older as well as a youth division for anyone up to the age of 18.
Entries will be accepted that day at the Oley Fair Centre from 2 until 5 p.m. Judging will start at 5:30 p.m. Please be sure to submit a recipe along with the entry. The recipe should include all the ingredients, quantities and the preparation instructions. Please place your name and address on the back side of the recipe.
Don’t forget that peaches must be the main ingredient of the dessert. The desserts are judged on overall appearance, flavor, consistency and creativity with a maximum of 10 bonus points being given for healthy nutritionally conscious desserts, list the health benefits on the recipe.
Please submit entries on a cardboard or disposable plate as all desserts become the property of the oley fire company.
