Staff and residents of Frederick Mennonite Community in Frederick, Pa. participated in at ALS Ice Bucket Challenge the morning of Friday, Aug. 29.

The challenge, while for a good cause, also hit close to home for some Frederick Living residents. Doris Oeschlager of Red Hill, recently lost her oldest son to Lou Gehrig’s Disease. She noted the terribleness of the disease while sharing a photo of her son with others.

At the start of the challenge, a dozen staff members took their seats while residents prepared to dump the buckets of icy water.

Doris was given the oppurtunity of dumping the bucket of ice onto Vicki Kriczky, Director of Marketing at Frederick Living.

Kriczky and the rest of the staff challenged Rockhill Mennonite Community, Tel Hai Retirement Community, Dock Woods, and The Peter Becker Community.
