Twin Valley Elementary Center recently held a fundraiser at The Mill in Morgantown.

Craig Sell, TVEC Principal, issued a challenge to the student body: if 101 students showed up at the fundraiser and signed a poster board, he and TVEC 4th grade teacher Valerie Smith would do the extremely popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

The student body showed up, and the Ice Bucket Challenge was completed!

In an effort to give back, a portion of TVEC’s profits from that night were donated to the Kevin Turner Foundation (KTF). Turner is a former Philadelphia Eagle diagnosed in May 2010 with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The KTF and its partners financially support efforts to study, treat, prevent, and ultimately cure ALS.
