Santa Claus has been quite busy this month making multiple stops throughout the area including hardware stores, train stations, motorcycle shops, workshops at various locations, farmers markets and more. On Saturday, Dec. 13, the man in the red suit decided to catch up on some reading with plenty of friends with a visit to the Schuylkill Valley Community Library in Leesport.

Right inside the door entering the library, a line was already formed for not just Santa, but also for a made-on-the-spot breakfast courtesy of girl scouts from Ambassadors from Leesport Troop 11100. The event was appropriately called “Breakfast with Santa.”

While waiting in line to order breakfast, the younger visitors had their chance to take a moment with the big man himself and let him know that they had been good this year along with offering a few suggestions of what they would like to see under their tree at home. Santa gave them an extra treat to go with their breakfast; a candy cane. If that was not enough, there were baked goods available as well.

After, or for some during, breakfast there were crafts in the back corner of the library. Children could grab a cutout such as a snowflake or wreath and then decorate it with glitter and other items to make it their own. Though there was some assistance from parents, the children took the lead on what they wanted their ornament to look like.

Santa’s visit was not one that was missed by many in the area as people continued to come in and out of the library throughout the morning. Mr. Claus brought plenty of cheer and smiles to the faces of the young visitors before getting back on his way with a busy schedule and more stops to make before the big day.
