The Boyertown Junior Women’s Club has announced that they will hold the local dress drive “Once Upon a Prom” for a second year.

The success of the event is dependent on those willing to donate gently used prom and other formal dresses, who can in turn give another young lady the chance to experience the prom. BJWC will be accepting long and short dresses, purses, jewelry and wraps. Collections will be accepted through Saturday, March 14.

Aside from donations, we invite girls from the surrounding area to attend the event, try on dresses, and take one home for a small monetary donation of their choice. Once Upon a Prom will take place at Strength in Motion Studios, 1145 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville on the following dates: March 21, March 22, March 28 and March 29, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The event is aimed to help give girls a memorable prom experience. For some young ladies, buying the dress can be a financial burden. The club would like to help those girls, who may not have otherwise had the chance, purchase a dress for a magical evening.

To make dress donations, contact Anita Zuber at 610-858-1351 or Joanne Pritchard at 610-506-6290. More information about the Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club is available on their Facebook page (GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Boyertown).
