The former star of TLC’s hit show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” has moved on from television, but is still in the limelight while changing careers to become a disc jockey.

Gosselin joined Eclipse Entertainers last October after an ex-girlfriend and former DJ let him spin music at her events. “I used to go to her gigs and, being in the I.T. business, I already knew how to work the systems and she would let me guest DJ for a few songs,” said Gosselin.

Eclipse Entertainers President and Founder, John Alexander, said, “His previous girlfriend, Liz Janetta, worked with Eclipse Entertainers for about a year before having to move down south for a new job. After that, Jon expressed interest in continuing her booked DJ gigs. He has a natural talent of knowing what music makes sense for a crowd in front of him.”

“John gave me her clients as a courtesy to me because he knew how much I wanted to do this,” said Gosselin.

Having frequent gigs at The Bally Hotel in Berks County, Gosselin said he loves working there. “I love Bally [Hotel]! It is such an awesome bar, its small, I got to know a lot of people there and make lots of good friends. It is one event that I can walk into and immediately know what the crowd wants.”

Gosselin’s “celebrity” status has not gone un-noticed in a town of just over 1,000 people.

Alexander said the power of social media can be a very influential part in elevating his company’s publicity. “The real magic is him providing entertainment for a bar/club is the bar going “viral” on social media for a night. People post that he is at a particular bar, then more people show up, then they take selfies with him or just pictures of him, social medial shares happen, and talking is good for business. He is great with crowd interaction.”

His new career has been very beneficial for him also. “I am learning new music, I am getting pretty good at it. I play more genres and am learning to mix more. Plus, I am getting bigger gigs, I am playing in the Lehigh Valley more and I have an event at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem soon. I also get to spend more time with my kids, which is very important. I can spend my days with them and then go to work at night. It is awesome.”

As for the future, Gosselin looks forward to doing more shows and traveling. “Who knows where this will take me. You never know. But I love doing it so I know as long as the crowd is happy, I am happy.”
