Claudia Panik, a senior at Twin Valley High School, has been named April’s Intern of the Month. Panik has interned both in her junior and senior years at Twin Valley Elementary Center and has had exposure in Kindergarten, 1st and 4th grade classrooms. Her responsibilities include assisting students in small group, large group, and one-on-one, including lesson preparation and delivery, PSSA writing prep and helping with writing lessons and spelling tests.

“Being with the children and having the opportunity to teach them is one of my favorite parts,” said Panik. “I am confident that working with various teachers and seeing different classroom strategies has really prepped me for the future. I have had the opportunity to see both the rewards and challenges of teaching. There is a lot of hard work and dedication that goes into a teacher’s 8-hour day.”

Panik plans to attend West Chester University for a dual certification in early childhood and special education. She plans on becoming a teacher and staying in the area.

“I just love when students learn something new–like a light bulb went on!” stated Panik. Mrs. Smith reports, “Panik is a wonderful addition to our classroom community. She works willingly and is a great role model for the students. Claudia is with us during our writing class, and she is always willing to lend a helping hand. The children and I enjoy working with her.” Smith feels that Claudia has a great future ahead of her. “Claudia’s lessons are thoroughly planned and beautifully executed. She has great ‘kid sense’ and also seeks to extend her knowledge,” Smith said.

Best wishes to you in your future endeavors and Congratulations, Claudia!
