Greg Pizzoli, children’s book author of Number One Sam, will bring his story to life for kindergarten students at Willow Creek Elementary School on Thursday, April 16, at 1:30 p.m.

All kindergarteners in the Fleetwood Area School District will be in attendance at this event sponsored by the Fleetwood Area Public Library, a member of Berks County Public Libraries.

Pizzoli will read his story and conduct an interactive drawing session with the students. Afterwards, the students will work on early literacy activities in small groups. Approximately 160 students will be in attendance. This free program is open to the public, but is geared towards children between the ages of 2-6.

Fleetwood Area Public Library serves residents of Fleetwood Borough, Maidencreek Township, and Richmond Township. This is the first year the public library and school district are cosponsoring an author event. Each kindergarten teacher in the District received a copy of Number One Sam compliments of the library and Pennsylvania’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

We are one of two Berks County Libraries hosting Pizzoli during his travels throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Pizzoli will visit Exeter Community Library earlier in the day.
