Elverson Day at the Park is scheduled for Saturday, June 27 at the Livingood Park beginning at 3 pm and ending with fireworks at dark. It is a fabulous gathering of local folks – families, friends and neighbors enjoying an evening of music and fun.

Music groups and performers are Carol Ruffner, the Cripple Creek Gang, Chris Burkholder, Ring of Fire and the West Chester Band. Children’s activities will include a moon bounce, face/nail/hair painting, pony rides, Pipper the Clown and exotic animals such as skunks, snakes, tarantulas and spitting cockroaches. The Twin Valley Fire Department will once again compete with Churchtown Fire Department in softball.

New this year is a sand volleyball tournament. Organizers are calling for teams of 6 to join the competition. If you have a team, please contact Lauren Kurtz, lkurtzie@yahoo.com. Also, businesses are invited to participate. If you have interest in setting up a table, please contact Becca Walker at becca@elversonfitnessclub.com.

The day and all activities are free thanks to the generous support of many local businesses. The only expense to this event is food unless folks bring their own. Food vendors include Dick’s Barbecue, Captain Chucky Crab Cakes, Rita’s Water Ice, Moore’s French Fries and Lickety Split.

The evening will end with a fireworks display. The rain date is the next evening. If you have questions, please contact Committee Chairperson Esther Prosser, esther@stoltzfus.com, 484-269-7153.
