Barbara’s Beauties chapter of the Red Hat Society recently held a Tea Party on the patio of one of the members.
The ladies were dressed in their ‘Red Hat’ attire wearing a red hat and a purple outfit. On the month of your birthday, you wear a purple hat and a red outfit. Members under fifty years old wear a pink hat and a lavender outfit.
During the tea party members enjoyed a lunch of cinnamon pecan scones and poppy seed muffins as the first course, Tortellini spinach soup with mini meatballs and a salad as a second course, followed by Reuben sandwiches, hot ham and cheese roll-ups with sesame seeds and also a mini pepperoni pizza and the third course.
For the fourth and final course, members were given treats which included assorted cookies, lemon tarts with blueberries, a chocolate mousse tart with a cherry and of course, assorted teas.
The group has been together for ten years and have twenty members.
Members attending “tea” included Queen (leader) Barbara Leer as the hostess, Diane Davis, Nancy Newpher, Mary Shaner, Jackie Hurchalla, Margo Newman, Nancy Gongoll, Maryanne Joyce, Adrianne Mensok, Karen Wike and Nancy May.
They are from Douglassville, Birdsboro and Morgantown. They have an event once a month.
