Aaron Menapace won Berks County’s Athletic Director of the Year. Every athletic director in Berks County was eligible to win the award. Menapace thinks he received the award because our coaches and athletes represent us well. The other athletic directors vote based on the program that they feel is best in the county.

Menapace has been working as an athletic director for 17 years, and he has only ever worked as an athletic director at Hamburg. He also received this award in 2007 and 2008. This is the only award he has won.

His favorite part about his job is watching kids grow up from innocent elementary students to mature young adults.

When asked about what he disliked about his job, he said, “There’s nothing bad about this job, it’s the best job in America.”

In high school, at Southern Columbia, he played football, basketball, and track.

Menapace has always had a love for sports and most importantly sportsmanship.

Julia Doklan is a freshman at Hamburg High School.
