On Saturday, Nov. 7, 32 modern day Pilgrims sailed into the Honey Brook Borough Park to participate in its unique Thanksgiving/Turkey Bocce Ball Tournament.

In honor of the upcoming holiday, the teams were named after something pertaining to Thanksgiving or the Pilgrims. A noon Thanksgiving feast prepared by all the players was mindful of the first Pilgrims gathering together, as we sat at tables outdoors to join in gratitude for all our blessings, along with laughter and another full day of great bocce competition.

The top three winning teams taking home the coveted Turkey Trophies were Plymouth Rocks, first place; Gobbling Turkeys, second place; and Wishbones, third place.

We will start “rolling out” the 2016 series of tournaments in May, and information can be found in the future on the Honey Brook Borough website.
