Kutztown Area Historical Society

Model Railroad Open House: Sunday, Jan. 24, 1-4 p.m. Normal Ave. and Whiteoak St., Kutztown. A highly detailed, 500 square ft. HO scale model railroad will be open for visitors young and old. A bustling city, amusement park, rural countryside, bridges, mountains, lakes, and streams are all on display. Children can have fun with interactive controls for Thomas the Tank and other trains. Reading Symphony “Know Your Symphony” Lecture Series: will kick off 2016 with a discussion with Jane Kauffman Brye, principal harpist with the orchestra. Ms. Brye will focus on Sibelius’s Firebird Suite 1919 and the soloist Vadim Gluzman. Ms. Brye’s presentation will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Highlands of Wyomissing. There is a charge.

Kutztown Folk Music Society: presents The Druckenmillers at St. John’s UCC, 257 W. Walnut St., Kutztown. Betty, Tom and Nathan perform Old Time music regularly in the region and beyond.
