    Historical Pottstown Walking Tour participants look over a house on the corner of York Street and East High Street. The historical structure was the grand old “Isaac Fegely” mansion and was built in 1868. Before being closed due to building code violations, it housed physician offices and recently apartments.

    Shown is The Security Trust Building on the corner of East High Street and North Hanover Street. The building was built in 1888 and was the last stop on the Historical Pottstown Walking Tour Thursday. The building now hosts the Brick House restaurant as well as several organizations including the TriCounty Chamber of Commerce and the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation.

    Participants of the Historical Pottstown Walking Tour Thursday look over some old photos while in front of the Kiss family operated motorcycle business, which has been there since 1913. The office is in a house built in around 1900 while the garage, adjacent to the shop, was built in 1917.

    This brownstone building on High Street in Pottstown was built in 1904 by Dr. Eck for his medical practice. It was renamed for Ralph E. Shaner & Sons Engineers, who occupied the building from 1946 to 2005. The building was one of the stops on the Historical Pottstown Walking Tour Thursday.

POTTSTOWN >> Community members strolled up and down East High Street Thursday for the Historical Pottstown Walking Tour. There were 11 stops on the tour with a narrator at each to explain the significance and evolution of historical structures. The tour ended at The Security Trust Building where participants went to the fourth floor to view the Pottstown Borough from above.
