Dorothy E. Krieger
Dorothy E. Krieger, 90 formerly of Shoemakersville died in St. Joseph’s Hospital on Feb. 27.
She had previously resided at Hearthstone, Maiden Creek.
Dorothy was the widow of Henry C. Krieger who died March 6, 1991.
She was born in Shoemakersville and was the daughter of the late John and Elda (Woerner) Snyder.
Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Perry High School and a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville.
She worked for 15 years as an occupational aide at the Hamburg Center retiring in 1985.
Dorothy was a member of the Blue Mountain Chapter, #443 Order of Eastern Star and the Ladies auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company.
She is survived by her daughter Kay Henn Kaufman and son in law Captain Edwin J. Kaufman of Hamburg, 3 grandchildren, Keith Henn, Hamburg, Kevin Henn, Denver, PA and Brian Henn, Auburn, 2 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 11 a.m. from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow in Zion’s Cemetery, Perry Township.

Vivienne (Fleming) Bruno, 75, of Mohrsville went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2014 while in Hospice Care at ManorCare in Laureldale. She was the daughter of the Helen and Elmer Fleming of Jersey City, NJ, both deceased. She was assisted with comfortable and compassionate care by all at ManorCare and through Heartland Hospice.
Vivienne is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Joseph; her daughters, Donna Marie wife of John Bailey, Mohrsville, Patricia J. Moerder, Hamburg, and Nancy C, Bruno, West Chester. She was predeceased by her son Joseph David Bruno in 1986. Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Dustin Beissel husband of Becky, Edgewater, Fl., Rebecca and Kelly Roach, Hamburg, and Madison Jones, West Chester, and great granddaughters Siera, Autum and Skie Beissel, Edgewater, Fl. She is also survived by her sister Joan wife of Patrick Delorenzo, Columbus, NJ., a brother, Elmer Fleming and his companion Lillian Poppel, Atco, NJ. and her brother and sister in law and best friends, Robert and Dolores Bruno, Bethlehem.
Vivienne’s life was dedicated entirely to her family and friends. She loved being a wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She enjoyed people, writing, poetry, bingo and golf when able to play.
Vivienne was a 1956 graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem.
She was a member of St, Mary R.C. Church, Hamburg and its Women’s Guild.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday from St. Mary Church, Hamburg. Burial was private in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamburg.

Robert E. Hoffman, Jr.
Robert E. Hoffman, Jr., 61 of Hamburg died in St. Joseph’s Hospital on February 26, 2014.
He was born in Reading and was the son of the late Robert E. Hoffman, SR. and Maryann (Suranofsky) Hoffman.
Robert is survived by his daughter Trisha A. Hoffman, Robesonia, a son Jason C. husband of Amanda Hoffman Southern Pines, North Carolina. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S, 4th St., Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

Marlene C. Showers, 72 formerly of Reading died Feb. 24 in the Timber Ridge Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Reading and was the daughter of the late Roy A. and Mary L. (Duminski) Neiman.
Marlene was a graduate of Reading High School and worked for many years as a secretary for Gilbert Associates.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Reading. Marlene is survived by her daughter, Mary L. wife of Eric Unger, Bernville, a son John Showers, JR., Muhlenberg Township, 2 grandchildren, a niece and nephew and 1 brother, Richard husband of Marguerite Neiman, Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be private.

Grace B. Phillips
Grace B. Phillips, 81 of Centre Township died March 2, 2014 in her residence.
She was the widow of Stanley G. Phillips who died in 1998. Grace was born in Penn Township and was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Pearl (Wagner) Boltz. She was a homemaker most of her life.
Grace was a member of Belleman’s Church, Mohrsville.
She is survived by her 5 children: Linda wife of Larry Ludwig, Shillington, Rick Phillips, Lenhartsville, Sherry wife of Kenneth Weist, Mohrsville, Cindy wife of Jake Rohrbach, Oley and Randy husband of Cathleen Phillips, Mohrsville. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Additionally, Grace is survived by 3 brothers: Edwin husband of Florence Boltz, Auburn, Kenneth husband of Judy Boltz, Mohrsville, Leon husband of Christine Boltz, Lenhartsville and 3 sisters: Arlene widow of Charles Smith, Centerport, Mabel widow of Stanley Rentschler, Tilden Township and Miriam wife of Ronald Haas, Mohrsville.
A memorial service will be held from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg on Saturday, March 8 at 11 a.m. A visitation with the family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
