JOYCE I. LEIBENSPERGERJoyce I. Leibensperger, 83, passed away in the early morning hours May 30, 2014, in the Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of Randolph J. Leibensperger.

Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Jennie (Snyder) Moyer.

A member of She John’s Lutheran Church, she was active for many years within her church. Starting to teach Sunday school at age 15, she was a longtime choir member and a member of the music and worship committee. Joyce was the first lay reader and communion assistant in the church. She was active as a Brownie, a Girl Scout Leader, and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She volunteered for many years at the Reading Hospital. She is a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star East Penn Chapter #336, Kutztown. She served on the Kutztown Recreation board, and was on the Board of Directors of the Kutztown Area School District for 14 years, serving as President for 7 years.

Joyce also was on the Board of Directors for the Berks County Intermediate Unit for 7 years.

In 1987-1988 she was selected as a subject of biographical record in ‘Who’s Who in American Women.

In 1992, she was the recipient of the Kutztown JC’s Distinguished Service Award. She loved sports and was always present at all the children’s and grandchildren’s events.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Gregory R. Leibensperger, husband of Patricia, and her daughter Weatherly Bergstrom Sokol, wife of David R., all of Kutztown. Other survivors include six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, her siblings Charles Moyer husband of Marie, Sandra wife of Melvin Hartman, Brenda wife of Terry Bucks all of Kutztown, Sharlene wife of Rev. Andrew Stauffer, Oley.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Melba Schroeder and Eleanor Smith.

A celebration of Life service was held June 3, 2014 at 11:30 AM from ST. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown.

Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.

PAUL E. ANGSTADTPaul E. Angstadt, 80, of Maxatawny Township, died June 4, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice, where he was admitted June 3, 2014. He was the husband of the late Joann E. (Hottenstein) Angstadt, who died Feb. 4, 1996.

Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Clarence and Clara (Warmkessel) Angstadt and was raised by the late Alvin and Ella (Ziegler) Bortz.

He was a member of the U.C.C. congregation of Zion’s Union Church, Kutztown.

Mr. Angstadt was a truck driver for Packaging Corporation of America, Trexlertown, for over 20 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that he was a truck driver for the former Carl R. Bieber Trucking and as a route driver for Weil’s Potato Chips.

He was a member of the Senior Friends, Krumsville.

Survivors: Daughters, Carol A. (Angstadt) widow of Jack Litzenberger, Allentown, Cindy L. (Angstadt) wife of Russell M. Neff, Kutztown; sons, Craig A. Angstadt, companion of Sharon A. (Matula) Meckes, Fleetwood, Steven P., husband of Bevery A. (Brewer) Angstadt, Fleetwood, and David L. Angstadt, compaion of Pamela M. (Matula) Kleiber, Swift Water, Monroe County; There is also a companion, Laila A. (Kohler) Barreto, Kutztown, and sisters, Ruth E. (Angstadt) widow of William Dierolf, Allentown, Anna Mae (Angstadt) widow of James Reinhard, Schuykill Haven , Christine (Angstadt) wife of Paul Kline, Birdsboro; step-sister, Eva (Angstadt) widow of Harry Sawyer, Illinois; brothers, Willard G., husband of Vivian (Schucker) Angstadt, and Kenneth R., husband of Dianne (Maurer) Angstadt, all of Mertztown. There are also four grandchildren, Erica L. (Tyson) wife of Jason Snyder, Kimberly A. Angstadt, Jeffrey S. Angstadt, companion of Samantha Henninger, and Jared L. Angstadt; great grandchildren, Jonathan P. Lemay and Elena C. Snyder.

Funeral services Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11 a.m . in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Elizabeth A. Haines officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

JOSEPH T. HOMANJoseph T. Homan, 69, passed away June 7, 2014 in the Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

He resided in Maxatawny Township and was the husband of Catherine E. (Moyer) Homan.

Mr. Homan was born in West Reading and was the son of the late Mildred Homan.

He was employed in the custodial department at East Penn Manufacturing.

He is survived in addition to his wife by three sons, Matthew L. husband of Karen, Long Island NY, Joseph T. Jr. husband of Rosie, Lower Macungie, Jason M., Kutztown, three daughters, Jeannie L. Adam, Kempton, Connie L. wife of Tim Boyer, Fleetwood, Kimberly L. wife of Matthew Hartz, Kutztown, 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
