Dear Editor,I’m writing to you because I am worried about the possible closing of Birdsboro Elementary School. As part of a Girl Scout project I am working on, I have to follow local news stories and see what news is most important to me.

I have been reading the stories about our school board voting on closing this school. I heard that if this happens, I might have to go to middle school next year when I am in fifth grade, instead of in sixth grade. This scares me if this would happen because I am not ready to do that.

I also wonder if my school, Monocacy Elementary Center, will be way too crowded, if the Birdsboro students come there too. I also think that if Birdsboro would not have an elementary school, then families with little kids would not want to move to Birdsboro, which would be really sad for the town.

I really hope that Daniel Boone School District keeps Birdsboro Elementary open.

Sincerely,Sarah Reinhart, age 10
