Three out of the five candidates have been announced, Dr. Carol Bresnahan, Dr. Lorrie Clemo and Dr. Kenneth Hawkinson. The remaining candidates will be announced Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.

A highlight to the evening was the announcement of the 2014 Berks County Outstanding Horse Members. All club members have an opportunity to fill out an application on their accomplishments and participation in 4-H events for the past year.

<![CDATA[Tilden PTO holds Chinese Auction and All-You-Can-Eat Dinner to benefit programs]]> Students eagerly pulled their parents along on the stage of the Tilden Elementary Center auditorium from one basket to the next, pulling apart tickets and placing them in containers of their favorites on Friday, Jan. 16 for the fourth annual Tilden PTO Chinese Auction and Dinner. This year's dinner was all-you-can-eat chicken alfredo and pizza.

<![CDATA[Hamburg Area High School students participate in PMEA District 10 Chorus]]> Two Hamburg Area High School students were selected to participate in Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 10 Chorus which performed Friday, Jan. 23 (moved a day earlier due to snow) at Muhlenberg High School.

Senior Cody Knight was selected as one of two piano accompanists for the choir festival and junior Hannah Schreffler was selected to sing Soprano I section with the District 10 Choir.
