<![CDATA[Students celebrate harvest season with the Great Greenwich Elementary School Estimation Contest]]> To help celebrate the harvest season as well as Thanksgiving, Greenwich-Lenhartsville, Elementary School in the Kutztown Area School District had the distinct honor of displaying a VERY large pumpkin in our lobby from November 10-14.

<![CDATA[Fleetwood Girl Scouts plant fall mums at Willow Creek Elementary]]> Fleetwood Girl Scout Brownie Troop 1793 planted mums at Willow Creek Elementary School in Fleetwood.

The girls planted mums along the building as well as around the sign along the road. The PTA provided a gift card from Esbenshades for the troop to use to purchase the plants. Each girl in the troop was asked to bring a spade and their own watering can to get the job done.

<![CDATA[New research from Albright faculty member suggests monkeys can understand their own actions]]> New research from Albright College's Justin Couchman, Ph.D., shows that rhesus monkeys appear to have a sense of self-agency, or the ability to understand that they caused something to happen. This finding sheds light on the evolution of self-recognition and self-awareness in humans.

In earlier research, Couchman, assistant professor of psychology at Albright, showed that rhesus monkeys, a species which usually fail an important test of self-awareness - the ability to recognize themselves in a mirror - were able to recognize their own actions in some situations.
