<![CDATA[Elementary students celebrate Kutztown Bicentennial Day]]> On May 26, the students at Kutztown Elementary School celebrated the Bicentennial Birthday of their hometown Kutztown.

Students began their day with a musical assembly featuring Pennsylvania Dutch instruments and songs preformed by Keith Britzenhoff.

Older elementary school students toured the Kutztown Historical Society to learn more about their historical and cultural connection to the Pennsylvania Germans who settled this area.

As the story goes, chaos and comedy ensue when a blundering young narrator, played by Sienna Cowley, discovers Prince Charming (Andrew Bausher) has been captured by the evil witch, Hagragard, played by Jenna Ritter.

<![CDATA[Elverson Memorial Day Celebration: Community shows their support, remembers those who gave their all]]> The American Legion Post hosted a Memorial Day Observance at the cemetery in Elverson on May 25 at 10:30 a.m.

It was a beautiful day and many people from the community came out to show their support and remember those who gave their all.

Boy Scout Troop 37 Scouts Garrett Hartman, Jacob Donahue, Nick Malcom, Dan Lawrence, Christian Lignore, Isaac Williams, Aaron Phillips and Pat Flaherty saluted the American Legion Post members as they entered the park.

<![CDATA[Daniel Boone's Odyssey of the Mind Team wins world championship]]> The Daniel Boone Odyssey of the Mind Middle School team comprised of Taylor Eisenhuth, David Eurillo, Emma Hartman, Zoe Thompson and Rachel Woomer and coached by parents Fran Thompson and Steph Woomer won 1st place at the World Finals held at Michigan State University May 20 to May 23.

There they competed against 63 teams from 8 countries to win the world championship for their division and problem, "Pandora's Box.

He kept notes on his findings which were eventually published as his "journal." It is his observations on the Pennsylvania Germans of nearby Berks and Lancaster Counties that are our principle interest here.

<![CDATA[Honey Brook: 32 compete in Spring Bocce Ball Tournament]]> The Memorial Day weekend in Honey Brook got off to a great start on Saturday May 23 when 32 people representing 8 teams played in the annual Spring Bocce Ball Tournament at the Honey Brook Borough courts.

Blessed with a beautiful day, the event was filled with keen bocce competition in the double elimination tournament and a break for a lunch where all the players ate like a family.
