Fleetwood Girl Scout Brownie Troop 1793 celebrated World Thinking Day by choosing a country and learning about it, they chose Mexico!

The girls had to first learn where Mexico is and what the weather is like.

<![CDATA[Twin Valley's Ament, Schlegels capture district AA championships]]> Twin Valley High School's girls swimmers, coached by Brian Emerich, enjoyed a huge showing in Class AA during the District 3 M & T Bank Championships at Cumberland Valley High School Feb. 27-28. The Raiders placed fifth overall as a team.

Freshman Taylor Ament captured the district title in the 100-yard backstroke with a team record time of 1:00.

Michael A. Setley, founder and principal of Concord Public Finance, Wyomissing, said five banks submitted 10 proposals.

He said the best proposal is Susquehanna Bank's 10-year, 2.

<![CDATA[Governor Mifflin Food Show offers students chance to give feedback]]> Governor Mifflin School District held their fifth annual Food Show on Monday, March 2, at the Intermediate School in Shillington.

"This event is a creative opportunity for students of all ages to know that their opinion matters in district choices," said Assistant Principal, Laura Morgan.

Ten vendors from different food service companies were prepared to give samples of their products to students from across the district.

<![CDATA[Tractor trailer truck jack knifed on 78 in Greenwich Township 11 a.m. March 5]]> A tractor trailer truck lost control on the snow covered highway in Greenwich Township March 5, and jack knifed, with a portion of the truck hanging off the roadway over an embankment.

Kutztown Fire Chief Troy Arndt told The Patriot that "A tractor trailer lost control and jack knifed, blocking traffic and spilling diesel fuel.

<![CDATA[Reader-submitted photos; Winter weather brings frustrations, closings]]> The snow has been causing some frustrations for travelers this morning as roads are messy, schools and government buildings are closed and public transportation is delayed.

Several area schools began closing as early as yesterday for the weather, along with Chester and Montgomery County government buildings and courts.
