Gore was not present for the meeting and was not reachable for comment.

"We wish Tammy well," Strouphar said during the Chamber Networking Breakfast, which was held at and sponsored by Keystone Villa of Fleetwood.

<![CDATA[Fleetwood School Board approves refinancing; Interest rates on new bonds lower]]> Fleetwood School Board unanimously approved a resolution for bond issue refinancing Nov. 18, in the hopes of bringing savings to the district.

The discussion focused on coming to a decision about a resolution for refinancing the district's 2009 bond issue of $13.5 million.

In September and October, the board was presented with the possibility and chose to hold off, pending research into savings projections.

Part of the Berks County Community Foundation, the charitable program distributed $44,250 it was announced Friday, Nov. 14, and $20,000 of it went to the railroad for operations.

<![CDATA[Truck driver charged in fatal Route 222 Maidencreek Township, Berks County crash; Police Chief: 'He told us he dozed off at the wheel']]> Two were declared deceased at the scene of an early morning crash on Route 222 in Maidencreek Township, and nine were sent to the hospital for injuries.

Tractor trailer driver Steven Bernier, 50, Reading, was driving a tractor trailer box truck for Cougle's Recycling, Inc. in Hamburg.

"He told us he dozed off at the wheel," said Northern Berks Regional Police Chief Scott Eaken.

The additional quarantine covers Hereford, Rockland and Washington townships and the boroughs of Bally and Bechtelsville.
