There were no serious injuries reported. All 23 children were transported to area hospitals for evaluation. Several children were treated for minor injuries, according to Fleetwood Police Chief Steven Stinsky.

<![CDATA[Boone replaces boilers; presents new realignment plan]]> The Daniel Boone School Board unanimously approved April 14 to purchase two new boilers for Birdsboro Elementary Center from Trane through The Cooperative Purchasing Network, at a cost not to exceed $390,000.

Funds will be taken from the district's Capital Reserve Fund. Board member Suzanne Dungan was absent from the meeting.

<![CDATA[Boyertown school board approves financing to lease more than 1,000 computers]]> Boyertown students will be getting their hands on some new technology next year.

The recommendation of the 2014-2015 HP Financial Computer lease was approved by the Boyertown Board of School Directors at their meeting Tuesday, April 8. The Technology Plan was presented to the Finance Committee in January of 2014.

<![CDATA[Exeter board votes 'no' to merger]]> The Exeter Township School Board of Directors voted against the motion for a merger with the Antietam School District April 15. Satisfying the Exeter residents' requests, the board voted 8-0, with one abstention, not to go through with a full merger.

The board did however, unanimously vote that the Superintendents of both districts work together to find areas where services could be shared.

Seventy degrees and sunshine welcomed hundreds of families to the Berks County Parks & Recreation's Eggstravaganza event at the bucolic and historic property of the county's Heritage Center. For three hours on Saturday, families enjoyed free children's activities and entertainment that were as much a celebration as spring's arrival as the upcoming Easter holiday.

<![CDATA[Life's Choices moves to new location and offers new services]]>

Life's Choices is coming up on two years in Hamburg and is ready for some changes. The faith-based pregnancy and resource center started STI testing once a month, financial counseling which started this month and has a new location.

Since the center opened an office in Hamburg, the other office in Kutztown, it has been located in the back of Second Hand Boutique on State Street with the entrance being in Apple Alley.

Wendy Sherid, event chairman of the Dollars For Dogs event was pleased to announce that 139 people attended to help raise money for The Seeing Eye.

The good news about this 10-episode series is that it's not a complete rip-off, but its deep familiarity with the film's tone and dark humor leaves it wide open to moments of redundancy.
