"The installation enhances our recent renovations, which reflect the region's agricultural traditions and New Holland's reputation as the garden spot of Lancaster County," said Steve Lindsey, CEO at Garden Spot Village, after last Thursday's ceremony.

The ferry reached Staten Island where only fire, police and rescue personnel by the hundreds were allowed to board for the trip back to lower Manhattan.

<![CDATA[2 Kutztown Girl Scouts make blankets for Good Shepherd residents, earn Silver Award]]> Two Kutztown students spent their summer working on their Girl Scout Silver Award. Morgan Kunkel and Erin Randall, ninth grade students at Kutztown Area High School, spent the last few months making fleece knot blankets for the residents of Good Shepherd Home in Allentown.

Erin has been volunteering at the home for almost a year and noticed that most residents like to have a blanket on their laps during the winter months.

<![CDATA[Hope 4 Joy benefit concert will raise funds to help little girl]]> A Christian Benefit Concert featuring Mark Schultz, Jean Watson and Heaven's Thunder will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Calvin & Janet High Fine Arts Center located on the Lancaster Mennonite School campus.

In addition to music from the three artists, the event will also feature various fundraising merchandise for sale, numerous gift baskets to be raffled off and more! All proceeds from the concert will go towards an international adoption of Joy, a nine-year-old little girl who is in China and was born with Spina Bifida as well as bi-lateral club feet.
