Pope Francis's recent visit to the U.S. had me spilling tears of joy, glued to the TV watching his every move and the crowd's reaction to his presence. I did my best to quiet everyone within ear shot so that I could make out the words the Pontiff was saying during his speech to Congress and masses in both New York and Philadelphia.

<![CDATA[More rain, flooding forecast along soggy East Coast]]> Even with Hurricane Joaquin no longer as big of a threat, the weekend promises little relief for the most waterlogged parts of the East Coast.The National Weather Service says the risk of flooding will continue through Monday morning, especially in parts of North and South Carolina that already have gotten up to 11 inches of rain this week.

<![CDATA[School House Rock! musician Bob Dorough, 91, performs at Kutztown High School, helps Kutztown junior with Grammy Band audition]]> Bob Dorough, beloved artist known for writing songs for Schoolhouse Rock!, performed at Kutztown Area High School on Sept. 29.

Kutztown students in kindergarten through grade 12 were in attendance for the concert at the Kutztown High School auditorium. Dorough performed a couple of his early songs, but the bulk of his performance was SchoolHouse Rock! songs.

<![CDATA[Hamburg Police: Fraud incident investigated by local police]]> The Hamburg Police reported an investigation of a fraud incident on Sept. 25 at approximately 3:15 p.m. This stems from an incident that occurred between Sept. 11 and Sept. 25, when Tina Dale, 47, of Pottstown used the victim's identity information to obtain a library card at the Hamburg Library.

The victim, Shannon Hollenbach, 34, of Hamburg, reported the incident to police, and the matter is currently under investigation.

• Major highway reconstruction

• Repairs or replacement of bridges over 20 feet in length
