Oct. 1, Boys soccer had their Pink Out Game against Hamburg Area High School. They beat Hamburg with a final score of 5-1.

<![CDATA[The Heritage of Green Hills Golf Tournament raises more than $8,000 for benefit fund]]> The Heritage of Green Hills in Shillington held its second annual golf outing to raise money for the Heritage Benefit Fund this summer at Flying Hills Golf Club. The event raised more than $8,000 for the fund, which is used to assist residents who may need financial assistance for a variety of reasons such as emergency medical expenses not covered by insurance or expenses related to a family emergency.

<![CDATA[Kutztown crowns King & Queen; Cougars fall short against Spartans]]> Amid the backdrop of banners, decked out cars and the gala of Homecoming, the young Kutztown Cougars came up short against Berks rival Wyomissing.

The Spartans jumped out to an early lead from two touchdown passes and two punt returns in the first half while the Cougars put together a long touchdown pass topped with a two point conversion in the fourth quarter to finish the game 48-8.

<![CDATA[Fleetwood Homecoming spirit high as royalty crowned; Tigers fall to Muhlenberg]]> Fleetwood school spirit and excitement ran high during Homecoming said senior band member Katie Long.

The crowd cheered loudly after Fleetwood first scored over Muhlenberg 7 to 0, but by halftime, the score was tied at 15.

The Fleetwood Band started halftime with "Party Rock Band" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" led by drum majors Katrina Fullington and Chaney Malick.

Students pack the student section at football games on Friday nights.

"Having a student section is a great idea. I like that they cheer no matter what the score is," said Marching band member Chris Mundell.

<![CDATA[Fleetwood Community Library Children's yoga offers 'great benefits']]> Fleetwood >> After a year and a half long hiatus, Miss Alicia returned to Fleetwood Area Public Library on Sept. 17 to kick off "Yoga for Kids Ages 5-12."

Around 6:30 p.m., kids piled in, kicking off their shoes and setting down their towels and mats. As the class began, the kids were enthused by songs, stretches, dances and Miss Alicia's silly jokes.

On the first PIAA play day, the Cougars traveled to western Pennsylvania to play Johnstown Christian on Saturday, Aug. 30. On the way to JCS, the team stopped at Hershey Christian.

Ashley is an early graduate. She signed her letter to the University of North Carolina to play field hockey.
