Oley Valley finished with an overall record of 12-12 this season, after going 6-4 in the Berks League.

<![CDATA[Paralympic skier Tyler Carter, native of Topton, competes in Empire Games]]> Paralympic skier Tyler Carter, a native of Topton, recently was back East to compete in the Empire Games at Lake Placid, N.Y., on Whiteface Mountain, at The U.S. Olympic Center. Tyler won two Bronze medals and a Silver medal.

The week before that he was Camelback Mountain as Head Race Coach for the PA Center for Adaptive Sports Ski Camp.

<![CDATA[Oley Fire Company Bowling Team competes in state, national competitions]]> The Oley Fire Company Bowling Team competed in the Reading/Pottstown Bowling Association Tournament.

This tournament was held on Nov. 1 and 2 and Nov. 8 and 9. The teams consists of the following gentlemen: Kevin Bieber, Captain, Milt Manwiller, Lynn Eckert, Brian Craze and Jim Coker. They won the tournament with a score of 3535.

<![CDATA[Hoops for Hope game raises awareness about cancer and Relay for Life]]> The Raiders played for a cause during the Hoops for Hope game Jan. 2, helping in the fight against cancer.

The Twin Valley High School boys basketball team fell to the Governor Mifflin Mustangs 60 to 34.

This game was all about Hoops for Hope. The Raiders joined in with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness about the cause to encourage the community to help and to also raise awareness about Relay for Life.

<![CDATA[PA Strikers U12 & U14 Fastpitch Softball players "Team Up" with J.p. Mascaro at Breakfast With Santa]]> The PA Strikers U12 and U14 players recently "teamed up" with members of the J.P. Mascaro Company to help out at the annual J.P. Mascaro sponsored "Breakfast with Santa" event.

The event held on December 13th was well attended by almost 600 children from the area. Fourteen Striker girls in all volunteered their time to the event as way of saying thank you to the Mascaro Company & family for their generous donations and for being a sponsor for the PA Striker Organization.

The Lehigh Valley 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation helps children and families affected by pediatric cancer by providing free and unique programming and support during treatment, survivorship, and bereavement, according to the foundation's website pcflv.
