This year showcased the family band.

All bands were family members. The first band up on stage was the Martin Sisters bringing Western Swing.

"We heard the Quebe Sisters and we totally fell in love with their music and it's so much fun and full of energy.

<![CDATA[ArtFusion celebrates latest educational exhibit]]> The greater Pottstown community was recently invited to the opening of ArtFusion 19464's latest educational exhibit: Rainbow Crow and Other Stories. The exhibit features artwork inspired by Native American stories. Each participating artist have created a piece in their favorite medium, which range from clay to recycled cans to traditional acrylic and oil paints.

Continuing the tradition of mixing an Italian dinner and music, this year their fundraising event "Spaghetti & Song" Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27 features the theme "the anatomy in music" so all the songs will have "a mention of some part of the body" in the lyrics or song title.

<![CDATA[Reading Civic Theatre's 'Shrek' captivates young fans]]>

The best part of Reading Civic Theatre's production of "Shrek the Musical" was watching all the youngsters in the audience react to the magical characters on stage. Their laughter at Donkey and Shrek's antics was infectious. The show finished its four-performace run at the Miller Center in Reading Sunday to a standing ovation as the cast sang "I'm A Believer.

This year's concert celebrated Pennsylvania's 2014 River of the Year, the Schuylkill River.

<![CDATA[31st Annual Lyons Fiddle Festival features contest, entertainment and jamming Sept. 21]]> The Lyons Fiddle Festival every year draws big crowds to Lyons Community Park, and this year the festival committee anticipates the same big turnout.

"The festival is expected to have about 5,000 spectators, 50 fiddle contestants from ages 4 to 84, amazing line up of on stage entertainment as well as several hundred jammers throughout the park," said festival treasurer Georgianne Haring, who is one of the festival consultants.

She won the position during her senior year at the University of Michigan in 2006, becoming the first female tuba player in a major symphony orchestra.
