For this lead Blues singer, a career of touring and musical success was not something she originally had on her radar.

While going through a rocky patch in the early 1990s and moving her life from State College back to the Lehigh Valley, a close friend's brother was holding auditions for his future band and she suggested Conklin.

Rod is a retired New York City advertising art director, a self-taught watercolorist who has painted fly-fishing, hunting, landscapes, the Sports of Polo and Show Jumping for the past 30 years.

<![CDATA[Music fans get up-close concert at Young Ones in Kutztown]]> Kutztown's record store Young Ones drew music fans in Thursday night for an in-store performance by bands Panic and Hate to Say It.

The concert had a "nerve-wracking" start, according to Frank Phobia, who coordinates Young Ones performances. When setting up, Hate to Say It guitar player Adam Madeira cut his finger, and Phobia said the band may not play.
