<![CDATA[Kutztown, Boyertown, Exeter and Hamburg youth learn jazz at Kutztown's Vocal Get JazzEd Workshop]]> Kutztown School District hosted their first Vocal Get JazzEd Workshop April 18 at the middle school.

About 70 students attended this event sponsored by Berks Jazz Fest Youth/Educational Activities and Berks Arts Council.

In addition to Kutztown, students from three other schools were bussed to the middle school to participate.

<![CDATA[New location unveiled for Art for Arf's Sake Auction benefiting Humane Society of Berks County]]> Humane Society of Berks County (HSBC) has a brand-new location for its 1969 rock festival inspired Art for Arf's Sake Auction. In its 14th year, the auction will be held at Reading Public Museum, 500 Museum Road, on May 9 at 5:30 p.m., where guests will be granted exclusive access to the museum's classic Rolling Stone photography exhibit.

<![CDATA[Exeter Community Band to perform Jazz Fest Concert at Hopewell Furnace to celebrate Civilian Conservation Corps]]> The National Park Service (NPS) will commemorate the 82nd birthday of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) with a Jazz Concert performed by the Exeter Community Band at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site (NHS).

The event is free and open to the public. This concert is part of the nationally renowned Berks Jazz Fest that runs from April 10 to April 19.

Students from Leechburg Area High School traveled across the state to meet with students from Twin Valley High School for a few days. Leechburg is a school district near Pittsburgh. This year will be very special indeed, as the festival commemorates the 25th anniversary as one of the premier jazz events in the world April 10 to 19.
