The Indian Fort Inn served as the site for the Shartlesville Lions Club annual Christmas gathering.

Food, fellowship and fun were on the menu for the festive day.

Joining the Lions were special friends, whether mates of deceased Lions, or company from afar.

The event began with greetings from Lion Peggy Seitzinger and a ‘little Christmas fun’ led by Lion PDG Bob Argot, who warmed things up.

Lion Lorraine Hix read the history of the poinsettia and Lion Pat Fisher gave a toast, wishing all a most happy Christmas and New Year.

The prayer was offered by Lion Hix and Carl Gruber played the music and sang, sometimes in Pennsylvania Dutch, as dinner progressed.

At one point, 50-year club member Lion John Messner joined Gruber in a duet, playing his mouth harmonica. He was asked to do it again during the annual celebration.

Poinsettias and other gifts were presented to the guests before they departed to other holiday happenings. They all sang ‘God Bless America,’ and wished each other a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
