Academic achievements of local students announced from Mansfield University and Messiah College

Theodore Harris of Bechtelsville has been named to the fall 2013 Dean’s List at Mansfield University.

To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be attending the university full-time and attain at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester. Mansfield University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).

The following students were named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at Messiah College:

Boyertown resident Kayla Desko is a junior majoring in education dual certification: PreK-4 and special education.

Barto resident Michaelah Gehman is a sophomore majoring in education certification grades preK-4.

Gilbertsville resident Matthew Kulp is a aw majoring in engineering.

Barto resident Sallie McCann is a junior majoring in peace and conflict studies and Christian ministries.

Gilbertsville resident Stephen Outland is a junior majoring in nursing.

Dean’s list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
