Fleetwood Girl Scout Cadette Troop 1684 played ‘Oversized Yahtzee’! The troop was working on a teamwork and good sportsmanship badge and these huge dice were just the props that troop leader, Cathy Reed, discovered.

The girls learned that if they work as a team, they would have to confer together and decide as a group who would roll the dice, how to agree on their next move, reroll and tally up their scores. The girls would jump up and down, screaming when they got their large straight or a Yahtzee.

The games was more than just a lot of fun, it was a lesson on working together and using their good sportsmanship skills.

Mrs. Reed found the idea for this activity from a Family Fun Magazine. The game was designed for just a fun family activity until this Girl Scout troop turned it into a lesson on cooperation.
