On Sunday, March 9, 2014, Brownie Troop 179, Junior Troop 1028, and Cadette Troop 11096 participated in Girl Scout Sunday at Maidencreek Church, Blandon. Other Girl Scouts from the church’s congregation participated as well.

In March, Girl Scout Sunday is the start of Girl Scout Week which celebrates girl scouting. Girl Scout Week starts on Girl Scout Sunday and ends on Girl Scout Sabbath, or Saturday. It always has to include March 12, which is the founding date for Girl Scouts.

This is the fifth year that Cadette Troop 11096 has participated in Girl Scout Sunday. They participated in many ways, including reading the Children’s Message and they helped collect the offering. This year was the biggest Girl Scout attendance yet and Brownie Troop 179 and Junior Troop 1028 provided the fellowship snacks after the service. Brownie Girl Scout, SaraAnn, performed a piano duet of “Jesus, Lover of My Soul” which was enjoyed by all.
