Have you ever thought what you would do if a friend or loved one should have a medical emergency and you were the only one that could help? What would you do? Could you save their life?
My name is Joseph Carmen, I have been involved in the EMS and firefighting field for 20 years, I will be holding an Emergency Medical Responder Class at the Twin Valley Fire Department starting July 7. The class will be held Monday, Wednesday evenings with a few Saturdays as well. This class is 1 level below an emergency medical technician. You will learn how to perform a medical assessment, take vital signs, splinting, bandaging, immobilization, oxygen use, CPR and much more life saving knowledge.
This class is very useful to anyone. You can take this class as young as 16 years old. If you take care of children, the elderly, or work in a manufacturing or business environment this class is perfect for you. Do you own a business? You should have some type of in house response team to take care of your own employees in the event of an emergency until higher trained EMS arrives.
The class will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. as well as a few Saturdays. Class is 48 to 55 hours total. The cost of the class per student covers the class, books and any other equipment needed. The class is limited to the first 20 people who sign up. If the hours that are advertised don’t work with your schedule please contact me as I’m sure we can work something out. To sign up for the class you can email me at 89jcarmen@gmail.com or call at 610-207-6904. You too can save a life.
