For their February meeting the members of the Woman’s Club of Strausstown were treated to a two-part program incorporating a look back at one of their successful activities and a quiz to determine how well they know each other.

The look back was a lovely slide show set to soothing music, with all of the pictures coming from the properties featured in the club’s 2012 garden stroll. The May event had been sparsely attended because of rainy weather, but the women had a second chance to view the landscaping and blooms of their neighbors’ homes through photographs and enjoy the images of springtime during this coldest month of winter. As the slideshow concluded, the ladies were reminded that, believe it or not, spring is only 37 days away!

At the beginning of the meeting, members were asked to write down one true thing about themselves and one thing about themselves that is not true but sounds as though it could be. Those statements, along with some general “facts,” formed the basis of a True (Believe It) or False (or Not) game that led to a great many laughs.

The business part of the meeting gave attention to plans for the winding up of the club after 60 years. It had been determined at the January meeting that some of the club’s money would be contributed to the Strausstown Fire Company and some of the money would be used to fund an activity for members at the last meeting in May. These specifics will continue to be fine-tuned at the March meeting, which will be “Strausstown Road Show,” and feature the valuation of members’ antique items by an expert in the field.

That meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at the Strausstown Community Center.
