Kutztown Area High School Student Council hosts its mini-THON to raise funds for childhood cancer tonight, Feb. 27, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

“This our first ever mini-THON to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund,” said Suzanne Mixa, Kutztown High School Student Council Adviser and Mathematics Teacher. “The mission of the Four Diamonds Fund is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care comprehensive support and innovative research.”

The Student Council held a kick-off event in October and asked students to raise at least $50 for the charity.

“We’re approaching $20,000 – an amazing accomplishment for a small, rural school!” said Mixa. “Tonight’s 12-hour no-sitting event is a celebration for all of the kids that made it to that goal.”

Student Council members will be sharing videos with the Patriot throughout tonight’s event. Look for updates on @kutztownpatriot on Twitter.
