The Fleetwood Area School District is proud to present three musicals for your enjoyment this month.

The first will be Shrek, Jr. presented by the middle school. The rights to perform this musical were just released in October, so Fleetwood Middle School is one of the first schools to perform it! Auditions were held in December and students have been practicing four days a week since the start of January. Rebecca Peters is the director/producer, Michele Rodriguez is the stage manager and set designer, Cynthia Evans is the music director, Catherine Reed is the costume coordinator, and Vicki Matteo is the choreographer. In addition, several parents volunteer regularly to help make the show a success by helping to make costumes, design the set, selling tickets and concessions, organizing the cast party, and helping back stage during performances. The cast and crew of over 110 students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are excited to present Shrek, Jr. on March 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. and March 15 at 2 p.m. Admission charged.

The high school musical this year is Thoroughly Modern Millie performed on March 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. and March 22 at 2 p.m. Fleetwood’s acting troupe of 39 cast members is excited to dazzle you with quick-witted dialogue, delightful vocals, and great tap numbers. The dedicated tap dancers have been preparing for this spectacular show since September, and it’s worth the wait! Set in the roaring Twenties, our charming “Moderns” learn about living alone in New York City. You will enjoy their fun and exciting adventures in the ‘Big Apple’. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a fabulous show for ages 4 and up! Their mission this year is to fill the ENTIRE auditorium! Elaine Hilbert is the director (and set designer), Erin Barnett is the producer, and Sarah Shuey is the orchestra director. Kirby Barnett constructed the set and designed the sound and lighting systems. Cathy Williamson is the vocal music director, and Nicole Heitmann is the stage manager. Tickets for sale.

The Willow Creek Performing Arts Committee, in partnership with the Willow Creek PTA Theatre in Residence Program, is excited to announce their school musical Aladdin which will be presented on Wednesday, March 25. Forty-nine students from kindergarten through fourth grade are involved in this show, which is Willow Creek’s 5th musical. The committee (comprised of teachers Sandy Hawkins, Heidi Carletti, Candi Gassaway, Jaime Wagner, Theresa Kelly, and Lauren Stahl) and students have been rehearsing since January. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. and is free to the public. Come out and let us “show you the world”!
