The members of St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 99 Church Street, Hamburg, have completed a major renovation of the church sanctuary. A Service of Dedication will be held in the new sanctuary on May 3 beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Adult and Youth Choirs will provide special music celebrating the occasion and the guest preacher will be Rev. Richard Hafer, a son of the congregation. Light refreshments will be served following the worship hour in the church auditorium. The public is invited to join us for this special occasion.

The renovations include remodeling the chancel and adding a communion table to the area that was constructed by a member of the congregation. Painting, plastering, and refinishing were done to the walls, frescoes, and pews in the nave. The organ was refurbished and the choir area reconfigured. A new audio/visual system was installed enabling the congregation to utilize visuals, tapes and sound reproductions in new and exciting ways to enhance worship both within the sanctuary and for use in home bound situations. The entire nave and chancel was re-carpeted. Finally, the entire lighting system was retrofitted to LEDs.

The renovation project has been made possible by the generous donations from the Almeda Machemer and George Koller Memorial Funds and through gifts shared by other members of the congregation.

St. John’s has been energized by the renovations and is thankful to God for his blessings and guidance in this major beautification project, that enables us to worship in new and refreshing alternatives. We cordially invite the public to join us in thanking God and dedicating these sanctuary changes to his glory.
