St. Michael’s ChurchSunday, June 7, We celebrate the Sixth Sunday of Easter and begin worship at 9 a.m. through Aug. 30. We celebrate Holy Communion with altar distribution. Come partake of the Lamb of God who takes away the Sin of the world, happy are those who are called to His supper.
During worship, the Sunday School children will lead worship and be promoted to the next grade. Children will sing a song to praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ before the children’s sermon. FRIEDENS CHURCH SHARTLESVILLEYou are always welcome at Friedens located at 28 Wolf Creek Road. We hope you will join us on Saturday at 5 p.m. for Encounters Worship in our outdoor chapel (weather permitting). The chapel is located towards the rear of our property and can be accessed through the cemetery. Parking is available at the chapel. If weather is a problem, the service will be held in the Christian Education Building. From June through August, Sunday worship is held at 7:45 and 9:30 a.m. Pastor Inge Williams officiates at all three services.
On Friday June 5th, Friedens’ Christians on a Crusade is joining with Charlie’s Angels & Friends and having a buffet dinner here at Friedens Church Shartlesville from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be raffles, vendors, and dinner. There is a cost, children under the age of 3 are free.
Our grief support group will be meeting on Monday, June 8 at noon in the fellowship hall. They share a meal and deal with a variety of grief issues. All are welcome to attend.
Join us for Vacation Bible School Boot Camp. On June 7 come to our first 9:30 a.m. summer worship and stay the day. The children will join us for Growing God’s Garden after the children’s message (during the worship). The children need to bring their favorite vegetable for soup. First Reformed Church of the United Church of Christ
At the corner of Third and Pine Streets in Hamburg, invites everyone to worship with us as we celebrate our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The members First Reformed UCC Church are excited to announce that we have elected the Rev. Darryl Hamm to serve as our new pastor. Rev. Hamm assumed his new duties June 1. He succeeds the Rev. Fred Diehl, who retired in June, 2013, and The Rev. Susan Ohl, who most recently served as our interim pastor.
Born and raised in Berks County, Rev. Hamm currently lives in Kutztown. He graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, with a major in physics and mathematics and a minor in Latin. He previously worked for Lucent Agere Systems and later East Penn Mfg.
Rev. Hamm studied for the ministry at Moravian Seminary, Bethlehem, where he received his Master of Divinity in May, 2011. He then served as the part-time pastor of St. Peter’s UCC, Molltown, serving there until he took over the Hamburg pastorate.
Rev. Hamm and his wife, Jennetta, will continue to live in the Kutztown area. They are expecting their first child, due date late August.
We welcome and encourage all in the greater Hamburg community to worship with us and meet our new pastoral family.
We currently have Sunday School at 9 a.m. and a Worship Service at 10:15 a.m. Beginning June 28, we will revert to our summer schedule where both our Sunday School and Worship service will be at 9 a.m.
