Reading Area Community College hosts Immigrants’ Rights and Resources Symposium

Reading Area Community College’s student Multicultural/International Club will host an Immigrants’ Rights and Resources Symposium on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gust Zogas Student Union Building.

The focus of the event is to connect community members with immigrant status who face the challenges of navigating higher education issues with community resources and organizations that can provide support. Participants include Pennsylvania Immigrants and Citizenship Coalition (PICC)- Maria Sotomayor, Organizer and Civic Engagement Coordinator; Greater Reading Immigration Project (GRIP)- Carol Anne Donohoe, President, and Myrna Fuchs, Co-treasurer; Make the Road, PA- Daniel Egusquiza; Community Justice Project- Colleen Normile, Director; Diaspora Law- Oscar Barbosa, Immigration Attorney; Centro Hispano Daniel Torres, Inc.- Mariela Jurado, Associate Executive Director; Catholic Charities- Yvonne Ramos, Immigration Case Manager; De Facto Americans- RACC students.
