The Tri-County Hoops A.A.U. Basketball Organization ran its first shooting and scoring camp with the help of Coach Paul Hoover of the Pro Shot shooting System at the Boyertown Area Y.M.C.A.Hollenbach Center. Coach Hoover has worked with Trey Burke (University of Michigan and NCAA Player of The Year) and Jeremy Lin with the Houston Rockets.

When I first met Coach Hoover, I was amazed by what he was telling Coach Russo (organization vice-president) and me, said President Coach Phil Haddad. I checked out his website and saw the way the top shooters in the NBA are shooting, and I believed he could help run a camp to help basketball players improve their game.

The first day 42 campers came in to learn the proper way for shooting. During the three hour session, Coach Hoover broke down the way to shoot and had the players practice that and brought them in to show them video to help them understand what theyre suppose to do.

I was really proud with how hard the kids worked and how much they improved, said Coach Haddad. I, along with Coach Hoover and Coach Russo, saw a big improvement from when we started to when the camp ended.

On Sunday afternoon, the campers came in and did a quick stretch and warm up. After that, Coach Hoover broke down lay-ups and how to attack the net. He then broke down one-on-one moves with the campers.

I highly recommend this clinic to anybody when it is offered again, said parent Monica Lacey. My daughter and I learned so much about the skill/art of basketball.

Were looking forward to running this camp again next year, said Haddad.
