The Exeter High girls’ basketball team were able to extend its breakout season last Saturday, Feb. 15 with a 43-40 victory over Muhlenberg in the preliminary round of the District 3-AAAA Tournament.

The victory sends the Lady Eagles to the first round of the tournament where they took third-seed Dover on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Due to our press deadline, we are unable to report the results of the contest.

Muhleberg led by four at halftime, 20-16, and Exeter only cut into the lead by one in the third quarter, losing by two heading into the fourth quarter.

There, the Eagles outscored the Muhls, 11-5 to pull off the victory.

Jennifer Eck had a big night, scoring 26 points. Abby Mengel netted six points and Ali Snyder scored five.
