Quinton Roma takes second in the long jump at the UAGTCA Championships

Quinton Roma, of Barto, participated in the 2014 United Age Group Track Coaches Association Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Lehigh University on March 2. The UAGTCA is sanctioned by the USA Track and Field (USATF) Mid-Atlantic section which held a series of four track meets at Widener University prior to the championship meet.

Roma earned a third place medal in the long jump with a jump measuring 4.83 meters. He also participated in 200 meter dash and 800 meter run at the championships.

In January, the USATF held its Mid-Atlantic Region Winter Track Championships at Widener University. Roma finished eighth in the 55 meter dash, 11th in the 200m dash, fourth in the 800 meter dash, and fourth in the long jump.

Roma, 13, is an eighth grade student at Boyertown Junior High East. He participates in the 13-14 year-old age group. He trains and competes as an independent athlete with no track club affiliation.
