Fans turning out for the annual Free-to-the-Public practice session at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, March 29, will get to see a variety of race cars. The noon time test and tune session will allow racers to show off their new equipment and make sure everything is ready for the new season.

It’s expected that there will be many different types of race cars taking part in the practice session, including NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsman, Sprints, Midgets, Enduro cars, Vintage racers and more. There are some new drivers expected to be part of racing action at Grandview, plus veteran drivers in new rides for the 2014 season.

No one will actually win practice, but the sessions just may shine a light on racers to watch when the point battle gets underway.

The green flag will fall for the start of the NASCAR point battles on Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m., with the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman featured in a tripleheader card of stock car racing. Seven-time NASCAR Modified champion Craig VonDohren will be kicking off defense of his 2013 championship title.

Again in 2014 T.P. Trailers of Limerick is adding bonus bucks to the winner’s money in each division provided the winning cars are carrying clearly visible T.P. Trailers decals. The Modified winner will earn an extra $250 while $100 will go to the winners in the Late Model and Sportsman divisions.

Adult admission for the regular Saturday night events remains the same at $15 while young people, 12 and under, are admitted to the regular events for FREE. There is free parking on the speedway grounds.

Coming up on Saturday, April 12, is the first special of the season with the NASCAR 358 Modifieds racing in two 20-lap features while the Late Models and Sportsman will race in their regular 25 lap features.
