On a cool Nov. 8, 2014, 30 modern day Pilgrims assembled to compete in Honey Brook’s annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bocce Ball Tournament.

The all day event included an exciting tournament with a mid-day break for a complete Thanksgiving feast. Each player brings something for the meal. While the first Pilgrims perhaps did not play bocce ball, like them, we give thanks for all of our blessings, including the fellowship we have and the fun, laughter and keen bocce competition.

To keep with the Thanksgiving theme, we had teams with names like Turkey Trotters, Mayflowers, Pumpkin Bread, Plymouth Rockers, Gobblers, Pumpkins, The Invaders and Turkey Breasts.

The winners were:1st Place: Pumpkin Bread-Gardo, Lisa and Donnie

2nd Place: Pumpkins-Chrystyna, Adele, Marian and John

3rd Place: Mayflowers-Patty, Kim and Tom

Four tournaments are held each year and you can look on the Honey Brook Borough website in the future to find out the 2015 dates.
