Midfielders Phillip Bell, Honey Brook, and Greg Zimmerman, Elverson, were strong contributors to PAISAA State Championship winning Hill School Boys Varsity Soccer Team

Midfielders Phillip Bell of Honey Brook and Greg Zimmerman of Elverson were both strong freshman contributors to the success of this years’ PAISAA State Championship winning Hill School Boys Varsity Soccer Team.

After a solid regular season the boys entered the first round of the State Playoffs and defeated a valiant Episcopal Academy squad 2-1. The Hill then hosted Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in the quarterfinal and came out on the right side of a strong 6-2 victory. A difficult 2-1 come from behind victory versus Western PA’s Kiski School followed in the state semi-final.

Hundreds of cowbell ringing fans were bussed in to the neutral site final at Cabrini College and witnessed a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory by The Hill over previously unbeaten and nationally ranked Mercersburg Academy from near Chambersburg.

This inspired victory by the underdog Hill School boys gave them not only a PAISSA State Championship and a stellar final record of 16-3-2 for the year, but it also vaulted them into a number two nationwide Prep High School ranking.
