The Kutztown High School Boys Basketball Team has partnered with a local organization, MANNA, to give back to the community this season.

MANNA is a ministry of Grace Church committed to serving the community of Kutztown and the surrounding area by providing food and other items to the needy. MANNA offers individuals and families with low incomes with much needed food and other grocery items free of charge. Currently MANNA provides services to approximately 70 local families. For more information on MANNA visit www.graceecc.org/manna.

On Saturday, Jan. 3, members of the team and the coach assisted MANNA by helping families to carry the groceries to their cars, restocking food items, and putting remaining groceries away for the next month’s distribution.

The second part of the partnership will take place during their home game on Wednesday, Jan. 14. MANNA will have a table outside the gym with items to be raffled off at half time. Attendees donating two nonperishable food items will be given a ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased at the game. All proceeds will be used to fund food purchases for future MANNA distributions to families in our community.
