SHIPPENSBURG >> Garden Spot High School junior Javon McIntyre finished sixth in the boys Class AAA 400-meter dash with a time of 49.90 seconds during the PIAA Track & Field Championships at Seth Grove Stadium on the campus of Shippensburg University on May 22-23.

In the girls Class AAA 4×800, Twin Valley placed 10th in the Heat 1 preliminaries May 22 with a time of 9:43.28. The Raiders’ seed time was 9:34.09.

Twin Valley’s girls 3,200 relay team consisted of Meghan Horan, Liz Duplass, Marisa Lizins and Marianna O’Doherty.

Twin Valley’s boys 3,200 relay team finished fifth in Heat 1 of the preliminaries with a time of 8:01.21 to advance in the competition. The Raiders’ seed time was 7:57.56. Twin Valley was 14th among 22 qualifiers to advance in the 3,200.

The Raiders’ team consisted of Colin Geary, Colby Geary, Dominic DiGiacomo and Josh Coakley. The Raiders had the 14th-best time of the 22 qualifiers.

Twin Valley then finished ninth in the finals with a time of 7:55.29, which represents a new school record.

Earlier, the Twin Valley boys placed second and the girls placed fifth at the PIAA Dsitrict 3 AAA Championship meet in the 4×80 relay, earning the Raiders a berth to run in the PIAA AAA State Championship.

The Twin Valley track team also had two county champions at the Berks County Championship meet with Coakley in the 1,600 meters and DiGiacomo in the 3,200.
