The Boyertown Optimist Lacrosse Teams (BOLT) celebrated its 20th Annual End of Season “Lax Fest” Tournament on Saturday, June 6, at Boyertown Junior High West.

BOLT hosted thirty two teams from all over the area. Players, coaches and fans came in from Scranton, Oxford, Springfield, and other areas. for a fun filled day of lacrosse, good food and great activities. As an active member of our community, BOLT proudly partners with Relay for Life (R) each year to provide concessions for the tournament. To celebrate BOLT’s 20th Anniversary, fans, players and parents enjoyed old time lemon and lemon sticks – a new treat for some and a fun trip down memory lane for parents and grandparents who attended.

The BOLT program develops players with sound lacrosse fundamentals with a strong focus sportsmanship and character for players as young pre-K through 8th grade. 48 games were played throughout the day. In addition to the thrill of the game, players really enjoyed several raffles during the day where prizes range from cash (50/50 raffle) to lacrosse shafts, heads and a new Cascade CPX-R lacrosse helmet which made for one happy lacrosse player!

Darrin Wallace, tournament director spends months preparing for tournament day.

“We couldn’t make it happen each year without all of the volunteers that help with planning, set up, concessions, and clean up. Our high school boys come out and for the day as well. It’s great to see them help out and give back to the sport and the organization that has been such big part of their youth.”
