Pierre Reedy, a senior at Kutztown Area High School, is a decorated soccer player. He is an Interregional Best XI, All State/Regional All-American (2014), obtained two national training center invites and High School Player of the Year (2014).

Reedy made a tough decision to leave the Kutztown High soccer team this 2015 season to play for the New York Red Bulls under-18 academy located in Whippany, New Jersey.

“It was a pretty tough decision to break the news to the team that I wouldn’t be coming back to play with them this season, especially because I know I shared some of the best moments with those guys, but they knew it was the right thing for me to do if I wanted to keep succeeding at the highest level. Due to that, I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better response from the team,” said Reedy.

As Reedy stated, he shared many great memories with his teammates from Kutztown, memories he will cherish and remember forever.

“My favorite soccer memory is scoring the winning goal in districts last season [2014] with my team [Kutztown], and winning the district title for the first time in school history,” said Reedy.

Pierre has dreamed about the possibility of playing collegiate soccer. He realized early on that he could make it, and made sure he put himself in the best position to make his dream a reality.

“I think making the move from backyard and recreational soccer to teams like LVU [Lehigh Valley United] and eventually [New York] Red Bulls, I knew that I was putting myself in a good environment, and surrounding myself with players and coaches with the same goal in mind. I knew I was at the right place to make it to the next level,” said Reedy.

Reedy’s goal has been achieved. Next fall he will continue his soccer career as a Nittany Lion because he recently verbally committed to Pennsylvania State University.

“I chose to commit to Penn State because I knew everyday I was going to wake up knowing I’d be playing with and against the best players in the country, as well as in one of the best conferences, the Big Ten. After visiting a couple times and experiencing the atmosphere on campus, it’s like everyone is a big family,” said Reedy.

As for what Reedy may major in at Penn State, he claims he is unsure but is considering a major in business.
