Hamburg’s Andy Haus proved victorious in the super late model main, holding off a surging Greg Satterlee to pick up the victory worth $2,000 over the weekend at Port Royal Speedway.

Haus muscled the lead away from Jim Yoder on the 19th tour of the super late model main after Yoder had led from the beginning of the event. Haus got by Kyle Hard for second on the second tour and chased Yoder through traffic for the victory. The races only caution flag unfurled with three laps to go for debris. Greg Satterlee was on the move during the second half of the race, making a two car pass of Coleby Frye and Chad Hollenbeck on the 16th tour to set his sights on the leaders. He then motored by Yoder for third on the 19th tour and Hardy for second with a lap to go but ran out of time to challenge Haus for the win, crossing .654 seconds behind at the finish. Hardy was third followed by Frye and Yoder. Sixth through 10th went to Hollenbeck, Gene Knaub, Greg Roberson, Dylan Yoder and Nick Dickson.

Greg Hodnett inherited the lead from Lucas Wolfe with 11 laps to go to pick up the $3,500 payday in the Port Royal Speedway season opener for sprint cars on Saturday evening. TJ Stutts finished 6.124 seconds behind in second followed by Mike Wagner, Dylan Cisney and Curt Stroup. Sixth through 10th went to Mark Smith, Wayne Dadetto, Ryan Taylor, Steve Buckwalter and Rick Lafferty.

LINCOLN SPEEDWAY

It’s not uncommon for the name Dietrich to be in victory lane at Lincoln Speedway. But this time it was older brother Billy Dietrich who came out on top of the 25-lap 410 sprint car feature Saturday afternoon as his younger brother and former track champ Danny crossed under the checkered flag in fifth spot. The only red flag of the day came out on lap nine when Brandon Rahmer got into the second turn catch fence after contact with another car. Dietrich held on in traffic to capture the $3,200 payday to become the third different winner in as many races so far this season in the Pigeon Hills oval. Dietrich took the win ahead of Glendon Forsythe, point leader Brian Montieth with Shane Hoff crossing fourth for his career best finish. Fifth went to Danny Dietrich ahead of Cory Haas, Adam Wilt, Gerard McIntyre, Jr., Kyle Moody and Alan Krimes.

Georgetown Speedway

GEORGETOWN, Del. >> Anthony Perrego scored the first victory of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled by VP Velocita South Region season at the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial for the grand re-opening of Georgetown Speedway. The triumph was Perrego’s second career STSS victory – he captured the ‘Battle of the Bullring 2’ at New York’s Accord Speedway on August 6, 2014 – and it was worth $5,229 including lap money and bonuses. The first Georgetown event under the BD Motorsports Media LLC management drew an enthusiastic, capacity crowd. The pit area was filled with 123 race cars. After winning his heat race despite starting ninth, Perrego redrew the number eight starting spot for the 49-lap feature event and slowly began moving through the field. Harmony, N.J.’s Van Horn notched a second-place finish to start his quest for the Velocita South Region championship after being so close last season. Andy Bachetti took third back to Sheffield, Mass., and was in contention throughout the event. Ryan Godown, of Ringoes, N.J., finished fourth from 11th on the starting grid. He was still riding in seventh on lap 30, but roared through, and even battled for second on multiple occasions. Milford, Del.’s Jordan Watson rounded out the top-five at the same track where he captured STSS glory last season at the ‘Blast at the Beach 2.’ Watson recovered from a mid-race spin in turn four to rally late for a fifth-place finish. Finishing sixth through 10th, respectively, were Craig Von Dohren, of Oley, in the Dick Biever-owned No. 14s; Matt Sheppard, of Waterloo, N.Y., from the 20th starting spot; Stewart Friesen, of Sprakers, N.Y., who also came from the deep in the field, starting 19th; the night’s $249 Hard Charger Brett Kressley, of Orefield, who moved from 30th to ninth in the event; and 22nd-starter Rick Laubach of Hellertown.
