Grandview Speedway has a lot of auto racing left in the month of June. T.P.Trailers of Limerick will be sponsoring the four division show this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Featured will be the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models, Sportsman and Blast from the Past Vintage racers with no increase in admission price.

Sportsman stock cars will be in the limelight on Saturday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. when they top off their night with a 40-lap feature. The T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds and BRC Late Models will also see action in the tripleheader show sponsored by BFP Specialties/Bashore Trucking.

The final Saturday night event during the month of June is set for June 25th and will be sponsored by Bechtelsville Car Wash. Included this night will be the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and the always exciting TSRS Sprinters. The BRC Late Models will have the night off. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.

Closing out the busy month of June will be the Tuesday, June 28th Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week doubleheader that will include the powerful 410 Sprint cars along with the 358 Modifieds.

***Following a rainy month of May, race fans in the coal region are hoping for warm weather and rain-free Friday nights as Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, PA will play host to three more nights of racing in June after getting in last Friday’s racing events.

The highlight of the month is the return of the sprint cars to the 3/8th’s-mile oval as the United Racing Company invades the track on June 17 for a ‘Night of Wings’ which will also see the track’s headline division, the CJ’s Tire & Automotive Services 358 Modifieds bolt on sail panels which are mandatory for the night.

The Schuylkill Mall Night race date is one of the most anticipated nights of the season as the sprint cars are a large draw at the track as they produce high speeds and side-by-side action.

The 358 Modifieds are set for the Savage 61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ramsey Night this Friday which offers a $6 general admission price for a three-division show of 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Roadrunners.

The ‘Night of Wings’ on June 17 will also see the 358 Modifieds and Roadrunners in action along with an Enduro Dash 60.

June wraps up on the 24th with the Jason’s Automotive Night featuring the Street Stock 30 Summer Shootout. The 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Roadrunners round out the four-division card.

Looking ahead to July, the month opens with the prestigious Georgie Stevenson Memorial on the 1st. The 30-lap feature for the 358 Modifieds pays $4,000 to win and $300 to take the green along with the Mark’s Service Center cash dash. The Sportsman feature pays $1,000 to win. Also on the card on July 1 will be the Roadrunners, 600 Modifieds and Fireworks.

***Poker players pay attention. At Pocono they are mixing auto racing and poker and doing it for a couple of good causes. The fifth annual Pocono Raceway Poker Tournament, benefitting The NASCAR Foundation and Pennsylvania-based Michael’s Way, will be held Thursday, July 28 at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The annual charity function is being held in conjunction with the July 28-31 Pennsylvania 400 weekend at Pocono Raceway.

The poker tournament will feature NASCAR drivers and other sports celebrities, all for a pair of great causes.

A limited number of seats are available to compete in the tournament and fans have four options to participate. A $250 donation offers a pre-tournament, VIP meet-and-greet with drivers and celebrities on hand as well as entry to participate in the Poker Tournament; a $150 donation offers entry into pre-event VIP reception and attendance at the event as a spectator; a $100 donation reserves a seat in the poker tournament; and a $50 donation allows for fans to attend the event as spectators.

The top-finishing fan will receive a choice between two exciting prizes – a VIP Race Experience at Pocono Raceway or a VIP Stay and Play Experience at Mohegan Sun.

“The Pocono Raceway Poker Tournament is one of the coolest events we do and we are excited for our fifth version,” said Pocono Raceway President/CEO, Brandon Igdalsky. “The NASCAR Foundation improves the lives of children in our racing communities through their programs and support and we are also excited to have Michael’s Way with us this year. Anything we can do to help those affected by childhood cancer is a great thing. Mohegan Sun Pocono has been a great partner and we are grateful for their assistance.”

Proceeds from this year’s event will help The NASCAR Foundation and Michael’s Way. Since 2006, The NASCAR Foundation has committed more than $25 million to initiatives that inspire children across the country to live happier, healthier lives. Michael’s Way, based out of Philadelphia, was founded by Chris McElwee in memory of his late brother Michael, and focuses on its mission to improve the lives of children with pediatric cancer and to support their parents struggling under the financial strain of a devastating diagnosis.

***And at Bridgeport, NJ Speedway the 11th Annual Friends of Mike event for Big Blocks and Crate/Sportsman will be held on Wednesday, June 15. Originally, back in January, FOM was scheduled in August. It was then moved to the June date in February. Unfortunately, some fans have only received the January schedule from the Motorsports Expo. It should also be noted that Brett Deyo’s ‘Dirty Jersey 4’ scheduled for New Egypt, NJ Speedway on June 14 has a rain date for the 15th of June. Should Brett need that rain date or Bridgeport needs that rain date, Bridgeport would then push back Friends of Mike to Thursday. It should be a great mid-week double header for the fans and drivers in the ‘Garden State’.

The much anticipated ‘Three for All’ show featuring Super Late Models, URC Sprints, and 358 Modifieds was originally scheduled for June back in January. This event was also moved on the schedule in February to Tuesday, August 16 to avoid schedule conflicts of the original date.
